At ChatOnGame ("we", "our", or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Android mobile application and website collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our services.

When you register and interact with ChatOnGame, we may collect the following information:

  • Account Information: Your chosen gamer handle/username, email address, and assigned unique Friend ID. Account creation and sign-in credentials are processed securely through Google Firebase Authentication; ChatOnGame does not receive, store, or have access to your raw password or password hash.
  • Profile Information: Optional avatar/profile photo and your favorite gaming titles (e.g. eFootball, Chess, PUBG, Free Fire).
  • Communications & Chat Content: Direct private text messages, message edit history, deleted message status, and uploaded photos or screenshots shared within private chat rooms.
  • Presence & Gaming Status: Online/offline connection state and "Currently Playing" game status synchronized in real time via Firebase Realtime Database.
  • Device & Push Tokens: FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) device registration tokens used strictly to deliver incoming chat and match challenge alerts.

2. Android System Permissions

To provide core functionality, ChatOnGame requests specific Android OS permissions:

  • Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Required to render the in-game floating chat bubble HUD overlay while you are playing games.
  • Internet Access & Network State: Required to communicate with Firebase Cloud backend services and Realtime Database.
  • Post Notifications (Android 13+): Used to deliver timely push notifications when you receive a new private message or 1v1 match challenge.
  • Storage / Media Access: Required only when you choose to select and upload a match screenshot or profile picture.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for:

  • Operating, maintaining, and improving the ChatOnGame Android app and website.
  • Delivering 1-on-1 private messaging, message editing, and Delete for Everyone functions.
  • Enabling gamer matchmaking via the Find a Gamer discovery directory.
  • Managing 1v1 match challenges (Pending, Accepted, In Progress, Completed).
  • Sending real-time high-priority push notifications for match invites and chats.
  • Ensuring fair play, spam prevention, and duplicate friend request suppression.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored and secured using industry-standard Google Firebase infrastructure (Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Storage). We apply strict database and storage security rules ensuring only authorized users can read or edit their own private chats and profile assets.

5. Third-Party Services and Advertising

We integrate trusted third-party service providers solely for core app capabilities and website operations:

  • Google Firebase: Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Messaging.
  • Google AdSense: When advertising is enabled on our website, Google and third-party vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to serve advertising. These advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to serve ads to users based on their prior visits to this website or other websites on the Internet. Users may manage or opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated private data at any time. When you use the "Delete for Everyone" feature in chat, messages are removed permanently from our active database. For complete account removal, you may contact our support team.

7. Children's Privacy

ChatOnGame does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
